Florida has cranked out All-Americans in the past couple years. Terrell Turner could be next on the list.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore, Turner has shown that he can score in a variety of ways, especially from the perimeter. He has emerged as one of the best 3-point shooters in the Class of 2017. He played up two age groups  this past summer on a Florida Flash 17U Squad that featured Wake Forest-bound John Collins. Turner said playing against older players was key for his development.

“Playing up two divisions was key,” Turner told SNY.tv. “It was a good experience, I got to play against more talented players, so that was good.”

Turner has already received offers from Memphis, Murray State, Louisiana Tech, Florida International and Northern Arizona. But after a good summer he received interest from Ohio State and Rutgers. He says that while he isn’t looking specifically right now, he does have an outline of what he will be looking at when the decision does come.

“I’m just looking for a place that fits the way I like to play,” Turner said. “I’m looking for a place that has a good fan base as well”

Turner does say that he models his game after players that have a specific skill set.

DeMar Derozan, James Harden and Kobe,” Turner said. “Players that can shoot, as well as put the ball on the deck.”

One thing Turner doesn’t lack is confidence. It shows in his game. Turner shares the backcourt at McArthur with the same point guard he does during the summer, Derric Jean, who will attend Louisiana Tech after his senior year. Turner said he believes that there is no one that can beat McArthur this year.

“I would say no one is better than us,” Turner said with certainty.

Florida is loaded in the class of 2017, but when Turner was asked if he thought he was the best of the bunch, the answer was easy.

    “Yes,” he said. “Absolutely.”
