There might not be a single player in the state of Florida who has more potential than Kevin Knox.

At 6-foot-7, the Tampa Catholic (Fla.) sophomore wears size 18 shoes, and is projected to reach 6-foot-10. Knox is currently averaging 24.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game in his second campaign for the Crusaders. Knox is also a High Division 1 football prospect as well, which could give him the option of being a dual sport athlete at the High D1 Level

“The season is going pretty well,” Knox told SNY.tv after a 16-point, 6-rebound performance in a loss to a 17-3 Berkeley Prep (Fla.) team. “I wish our record was a bit better (15-7). But overall, I feel like I’m doing a good job, and the team is contributing well.”

Knox has already received an offer from Memphis, and has received letters from high major schools.

“Central Florida, Florida State, Miami, they’ve called my dad,” Knox said.

Knox said that he will will play with Each 1 Teach 1 Elite’s 17U EYBL team this summer, which for him will include playing against elite players that are a year older than him. Knox believes he will have to expand his game even more to be able to compete against the elite talent that the country has to offer.

“I’m working on my jump shot and my dribbling a lot right now,” Knox said. “I need to be able to take people off of the bounce and be able to pull up and hit that jumpshot a bit more easily. This summer, I will be playing the two or the three on the wing most of the time, that’s where improving my jumpshot and my ability to handle the ball will be important.”

Knox’s regular season training is in good hands, with his father, Kevin Knox Sr. a former Florida State wideout, working him out on the weekends.

“I get in the gym a lot on the weekends with my father,” Knox said. “Just working on getting everything better.

To say the ceiling on Knox is high would be an understatement. He has a very bright future ahead of him indeed.
