Burlington (N.J.) Life Center point guard Traci Carter is college eligible and will soon cut his list to five schools.
“Traci passed his ACT and is officially qualified,” Donnie Carr, Carter’s mentor, told SNY.tv. He’s on a class trip and doesn’t get back until next Monday. Sometime next week were going cut his list to five schools.”
The 6-foot-1 Carter has seen his stock rise dramatically this winter with his strong play and is being courted by UConn, N.C. State, Xavier, Seton Hall, Creighton, George Mason, La Salle, Temple and others.
THOMAS AKYAZILI TO VISIT ST. JOHN’S, COLORADO
Thomas Akyazili, a 6-2 combo guard from Belgium, will visit St. John’s this coming weekend, he told SNY.tv.
“I’ve never been in New York,” he told SNY.tv. “I’m also visiting Colorado next week (Feb. 26-27).”
Asked what skill set he will bring, he said, “I think I can bring a lot, finding the open man, scoring, just doing what the team needs.”
Utah, Creighton, Davidson, UAB and Iona are among the schools also in the mix.
Akyazili averaged 15.1 points and 4.6 assists last summer at the U18 European Championship for Men Division A.

For the North Carolina game on Wednesday, Duke will host 2016 point guard Derryck Thornton, 2016 guard Dennis Smith Jr., 2016 forward Harry Giles and 2015 big man Caleb Swanigan. Evan Daniels of Scout reported the Swanigan visit, and Alex Kline reported the Giles and Smith Jr. visits. Thornton is also planning visits to Louisville and Arizona….Kansas assistant Norm Roberts is expected to see 2015 forward Cheick Diallo on Thursday.
