Seton Hall transfer Jaren Sina had an in-home visit Monday with South Carolina coach Frank Martin that “went well,” Mergin Sina told SNY.tv.
“They are extremely interested in Jaren and feel that his leadership and basketball IQ can really help them,” the player’s father said.
Boston College, Michigan, Rutgers , George Washington, Rhode Island and Binghamton are also involved for the 6-foot-2 sophomore guard out of Gill St. Bernard’s who was averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 assists before he announced his plans to transfer.
He took an official visit this past weekend to Binghamton, where his younger sister is a freshman point guard on the women’s team.
South Carolina also has Roselle (N.J.) Catholic forward Chris Silva signed for 2015, and has been recruiting this area more aggressively via assistant coach Matt Figger.
Sina will have to sit a year per NCAA transfer regulations unless he obtains a waiver.
