Four-star small forward Maverick Rowan has a new list.
Rowan is now considering St. John’s, N.C. State, West Virginia and Louisville, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Scout’s Evan Daniels.
Rowan told Daniels he won’t take any more visits.
“Probably not,” he said.
Rowan, who continues to take classes toward reclassifying into 2015, recently said he was down to St. John’s, Wisconsin and North Carolina State. But Bo Ryan’s imminent retirement appears to have pushed the Badgers out of the mix.
St. John’s went three deep for the 6-foot-7 Rowan on Thursday, with head coach Chris Mullin and assistants Barry “Slice” Rohrssen and Matt Abdelmassih watching Rowan as well as PSA Cardinals 2016 forward Kassoum Yakwe.
St. John’s is thought by some to have the upper hand given Ron Rowan, Maverick’s father, was a teammate of new Red Storm head coach Chris Mullin in the 1980’s.
Reached by text, Ron Rowan said he had no update on his son’s current list and said he had to catch up.”
Rowan previously said he plans to take his last two visits to Wisconsin and N.C. State, then make a decision in August after finishing up his course work to get into the 2015 class.
