ELI WRIGHT TO MISSISSIPPI STATE
Eli Wright, a 6-4, 195-pound shooting guard out of Owensboro (KY) Apollo, committed to Mississippi State, he confirmed to SNY.tv.
He also considered Florida, Wake Forest and UConn.
“It was just the feel I got from the first moment I stepped on the campus,” he said. “Coach [Korey] McCray and I really had a great relationship and I know that [Ben] Howland is a fantastic coach who will help me reach my goals.
“I feel like I will help by being that attacker. That’s my strongest aspect. Also by just being an overall good teammate and pushing them every day.”
He confirmed that 2015 power forward Aric Holman, who will be a freshman at Mississippi State, was also a key factor.
“We grew up together,” he said. “We have been close since the first grade.”
Wright is ranked the No. 21 shooting guard in 2016 and the No. 134 overall player by 247Sports.com.
