NEW YORK — T.J. Leaf has official visits set to Cal and UCLA, his father confirmed to SNY.tv.

Leaf, who notched 14 points and seven rebounds in the Under Armour Elite 24 Game, will visit Cal Oct. 23 and UCLA Oct. 30, Brad Leaf said.

He took an unofficial visit to San Diego State last week.

Leaf also has several in-home visits coming, with UCLA and Gonzaga getting the first shots on Sept. 9. Leaf will also have home visits with Cal Sept. 10, Kansas Sept. 13 and North Carolina and San Diego State Sept. 14.

The 6-foot-10, 217-pound 2016 face-up forward from El Cajon (CA) Foothills Christian recently cut his list to Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Texas, California, San Diego State, Gonzaga and Indiana after decommitting from Arizona.

“Most of the schools I have on there, I have them on there because the coaches are really free, they let you do things,” he told SNY.tv this week. “Every single school in there, the coaches let you play with freedom. You don’t have to look over your shoulder and think, ‘If I take a bad shot, I’m out’. You can run, you can take quick shots and that’s what I like.”

Asked why he decommitted, Leaf said: “I just think it’s the best thing for me to look elsewhere. It’s nothing to do with the coaches there. They have a heckuva coaching staff and I love those guys.

“I just think there can be better opportunities for me elsewhere.”
