    Kobie Eubanks has not been cleared by the NCAA, and will not enroll at the University of Alabama.

    “The Story is out I will not be Attending the Univ[ersity of] Alabama due to not be[ing] cleared by NCAA in time for the Start of School at Alabama,” Eubanks tweeted. “I was not accepted to school and was not able to enroll. I want to thank coach Avery Johnson and Staff and Roll Tide Family for everything!”

    GilesHarry Giles, the No. 1-rated player in the Class of 2016, and his best friend Jayson Tatum are projected as the No. 1 and 2 picks in the 2017 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com, the top mock draft site in the industry.

    Tatum has committed to Duke and Giles could end up following his friend there, meaning the Blue Devils could have the top two picks in the 2017 draft.

    Giles has a final five list of schools and has official visits planned to all five, with Duke set for last.

    Uncommitted point guard Dennis Smith Jr. is projected at No. 3, followed by uncommitted small forward Josh Jackson at No. 4 and uncommitted combo guard Markelle Fultz at No. 5. 

    4_3721388After initially saying the would announce his college choice on Saturday, Eron Gordon, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Indianapolis, has postponed his decision.

    “I’ve decided to postpone the College Commitment would like explore my college visits,” he Tweeted.

    Gordon had been listing LSU, Indiana, Butler, Nevada, Notre Dame, Auburn, Purdue and Nebraska, his brother Evan told SNY.tv.

    Both Evan and Eric Gordon spent a year at Indiana.

    CMxmd_GVEAAGRftSacha Killeya-Jones, a 6-foot-10 power forward from  Lynchburg (Va.) Virginia Episcopal School, announced on Twitter he has committed to Kentucky, becoming their second 2016 commitment after New Zealand forward Tai Wynyard.

    “I look at what Coach [John] Calipari has done with players like myself, and I see the way he prepares them for the next level and it’s impressive,” Killeya-Jones, who decommitted from Virginia in June, told ESPN.com. “He is a really genuine person who is a demanding coach. I felt very comfortable with him and [I] trust him.”

    He also considered  North Carolina, N.C. State, Kansas and Florida, among others.

    “He thought it was a great fit,” Team Loaded coach Ty White told SNY.tv by phone Wednesday morning.

    It’s “not looking good” for incoming Kentucky point guard Jamal Murray to play with Canada during Olympic qualifying Aug. 31-Sept. 12 in Mexico, a source close to Team Canada told SNY.tv.

    The stumbling block is “Kentucky’s admission and attendance policies,” not the NCAA, the source said.

    The situation should be officially resolved later this week.

    Kentucky coach John Calipari attended the Yankees’ 8-4 win over the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium but was not asked about the issue.

    Lleyton-Hewitt-009The USTA on Tuesday announced that top 18-year old Jared Donaldson, 2011 French Open boys’ champion Bjorn Fratangelo, 2012 Olympian Ryan Harrison, former Texas A&M All-American Austin Krajicek, 2015 NCAA champion Ryan Shane and 2015 USTA Boys’ 18s National Champion Frances Tiafoe have been awarded men’s singles main draw wild card entries into the 2015 US Open, along with 2001 US Open champion Lleyton Hewitt, of Australia, and Pierre-Hughes Herbert, of France.

    The 2015 US Open will be played August 31-September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. Both the men’s and women’s singles champions this year will earn $3.3 million, with the ability to earn an additional $1 million in bonus prize money – for a total $4.3 million potential payout – based on their performances in the Emirates Airline US Open Series.
