GenieNEW YORK — Genie Bouchard has withdrawn from the US Open with a concussion.

The blonde bombshell from Canada was due to play Roberta Vinci Sunday in the Round of 16 in a  late afternoon match in Louis Armstrong Stadium, but the tournament announced she had pulled out.

On Friday, Bouchard “slipped and fell in the locker room and sustained a head injury,” US Open Tournament Director David Brewer announced Saturday. She then pulled out of the women’s and mixed doubles events.

Bouchard broke out in 2014, reaching the Wimbledon final and the semifinals of two other majors.

After struggling through much of 2015, she began working with Jimmy Connors, a five-time US Open champion, and has been playing well enough to reach the final 16 here.
