Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey and assistant Anthony Solomon had a strong home visit Monday with 7-footer Thon Maker.
“It went great,” Ed Smith, Maker’s guardian, told SNY.tv. “They really loved our setup at Athlete Institute. We watched tape of their bigs and how Thon would fit in their offensive scheme. We also touched on the skill level of and exposure in the ACC.”
Notre Dame entered the Thon Maker Sweepstakes late but now appears to be strongly in the mix, along with Arizona State.
Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley and assistant Brian Merritt met with Maker and Smith on Friday.
Maker, who opted to spend all of the 2015-16 season at Orangeville Prep, is projected as a first-round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
