algevon-eichelberger-e1407986531915Algevon Eichelberger has committed to DePaul, following his recent visit.

“I am blessed & honored to say I have verbally committed to DePaul to further my education and my basketball career,” Eichelberger tweeted.

The 6-foot-7 power forward from La Lumiere (Ind.) should be able to contribute in some capacity right away, especially on the boards.

“With Al you get instant toughness and production,” La Lumiere coach Shane Heirman said. “He is the ultimate competitor and is going to show up every day to get better.”

Eichelberger is the second commit for the Blue Demons in the class of 2016, joining Devin Gage.

He also had offers from Detroit, Nicholls State and Northern Illinois.
