Former Rutgers big man Kadeem Jack will play with the Detroit Pistons summer league team in the Orlando Summer League July 2-8, his agent told SNY.tv.
Jack averaged 10.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in the D-League last season.
“I’m very humbled to get this opportunity and very eager to get with the program and figure out ways in which I can make them better,” Jack told SNY.tv.
“Kadeem is an intriguing NBA prospect,” agent B.J. Bass said. “He has all the length and athleticism to play in the league. What I think NBA people are starting to figure out, is that he has the versatility at 6-foot-9 to play and defend on the wing. He shot 43 percent from 3 in Reno and I think he translates in to the prototypical ‘3&D’ guy that teams covet. Summer League is going to be an important step in the process.”
The Orlando Summer League will include the Knicks, Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Jack bounced around last season between the Indiana Pacers and NBA D-League teams the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the Reno Bighorns.
“I would say the hardest part is just getting acclimated with the team,” Jack, a former Rice High School teammate, previously told SNY.tv. “You go, you learn one set of plays and you learn the system, you learn how to play with guys and then you move on to the next team.”
