The incident occurred during the afternoon of May 27 on the 2400 block of Diamond Street. Police say Jordan and two other suspects arranged via Facebook to meet three men to sell a cellphone. During the meeting, police say Jordan and the two other suspects attempted to rob the victims, who fled the scene. Jordan allegedly shot one victim in the arm. He was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Wednesday on the 2100 block of North 15th Street. When initially confronted by officers, police say Jordan attempted to flee on foot, but was captured.In June of 2015, St. Johns’ announced Jordan had decided to pursue professional basketball opportunities and would not return to the University for the 2015-16 campaign, which would have been his junior season. He played 11 games during the 2015-16 season with the Delaware 87ers of the NBA D-league, averaging 8 points per game. The 6-foot-4 guard played two seasons for the Red Storm where he averaged 12 points and three assists in 60 career appearances. “Playing professional basketball has always been a goal of mine. I believe I am ready to take the next step in my basketball career and plan to work hard to achieve my dream of playing in the NBA,” said Jordan then. “I am thankful for the opportunities and support St. John’s University has provided to me. This decision was made with my family’s best interests in mind.”
