Lonnie Walker continues to add high-major offers and is targeting the late-summer/early-fall to cut his list.

SUWANEE, Ga. — Lonnie Walker continues to add high-major offers and is targeting the late-summer/early-fall to cut his list.

The 6-foot-5 wing from Reading, PA is currently ranked No. 21 in the nation by 247 Sports, and is averaging 16.7 points per game on the Nike EYBL Circuit for Team Final for a team that is 10-6 heading into Peach Jam.

“I feel like the summer is going very well,” Walker told SNY.tv. “My talent is getting recognized on a national level, I’m just looking to improve my game and develop.”

Kentucky offered the shooting guard out in early May.

“It means a lot to have that offer,” Walker said. “Kentucky is one of those schools that if you get an offer, it shows that you are a good player, and that you can play with the best of them. Going there would be a different notch of talent, playing with the best in practice. There are a lot of different factors that would add on to my game if I decided to go there.”

With reigning NCAA champion Villanova currently the lead in Walker’s Crystal Ball on 247 Sports, he says that location doesn’t matter, but the fact that they offered first certainly does.

“Staying home isn’t going through my head,” Walker said. “Villanova is always going to be right there on my radar. They were the first team that offered me, that is a big factor. Seeing them win a national championship was a great feeling, but at the same time, I’m going to have to see who’s coming in, who’s leaving.”

The Reading native most recently picked up an offer from Arizona, and he says that the offer is very significant.

“It would mean a lot,” Walker said of the offer from the Wildcats. “Coach [Sean] Miller is a great coach, he’s had a lot of great players come through. That offer means a lot.”

Walker will be looking at cutting his list later this summer and he says he has a lot of criteria he will be assessing.

“Somewhere in the August-October area,” Walker said. “I’m going to be looking at the environment around the coach, the players, the academics, players they’re looking for, and just the overall feeling of it.”

Walker currently holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, UConn, Florida State, Holy Cross, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Oregon, Villanova, Penn State, Syracuse and Virginia.
