Top draft prospect Ben Simmons does not plan on working out with the Philadelphia 76ers, who hold the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Philadelphia GM Bryan Colangelo told NJ.com’s Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Simmons, a 6-foot-10 forward who averaged 19.2 points and 11.8 rebounds at LSU last season, is expected to be the top pick in the draft, according to several mock drafts.

“He would very much like to be selected No. 1,” Colangelo said of Simmons. “We heard the same thing from (Duke forward) Brandon (Ingram) today.”

Ingram worked out Monday for the Sixers.

Colangelo said the 76ers have not yet scheduled a workout despite contacting Rich Paul, Simmons’ agent.

“It has nothing to do with us, and nothing to do with Philadelphia,” Colangelo said. “Everybody goes about it a little differently. Sometimes players decide to workout, sometimes they decide not to workout.”

Simmons is an avid fan of the Lakers, who pick No. 2 in the Draft.
