Quade Green, the 6-foot point guard from Philadelphia (PA) Neumann-Goretti and the PSA Cardinals AAU program, will visit Kentucky unofficially on Wednesday-Thursday and could pick up an offer on the trip.

“He’ll be there Wednesday and Thursday,” Goretti coach Carl Arrigale said Monday on The 4 Quarters Podcast.. “I just talked to coach [Tony] Barbee [Monday] and I’m supposed to talk to Cal. It seems to be moving in that direction [of an offer]. Nothing’s official yet. Once they get him in the office and find out what his thinking is and what he’s thinking about.

“I know they do feel like their backcourt this year [Isaiah Briscoe, Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox] is going to be talented enough to all be gone possibly next year so they’re looking for players to come in and play. They see him as a Tyler Ulis maybe with a couple more inches, which is probably a pretty good comparison. He’s got the guts of burglar. He plays really hard, he’s not afraid of any moment and he watched the Kentucky teams with Tyler out there. They see him as being a guy who can play that similar role for them the next few years.”

Green, who made the first USA U18 cut, visited Duke last week and picked up an offer.

“For him, it’s good because he works extremely hard and Duke is a school he always talked about,” Arrigale said Monday on The 4 Quarters Podcast. It’s just a testament to how hard he’s worked and how much is game is grown over the years with us. He came in as a scoring guard and he’s turned himself into a scoring point guard.”

He added: “What is there not to like about Duke and their program and getting to sit in Coach K’s office and talk hoops?”

Green also holds offers from numerous other programs, including Syracuse and Villanova.

    BEATTY TRIMS TO EIGHT

David Beatty, a 6-3 combo guard from St. Benedict’s Prep, has cut his list to eight schools: UCLA, Maryland, UConn, Indiana, Georgetown, Virginia, La Salle and Temple.

“When I know the school, I’m going to just commit,” he said recently. “When I feels it’s the right school I’m going to know right then and there and just commit.”

    TILMON DOWN TO SIX

Jeremiah Tilmon, a 6-10 Class of 2017 power forward from East Saint Louis, IL and the La Lumiere School in Indiana, has cut his list, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello

Ranked the No. 8 power forward in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, Tilmon named Illinois, Michigan State, North Carolina, Texas, Kansas and Missouri as his final group of schools. He broke down each school for SNY.tv.

Illinois: “I have a great relationship with them. They have been recruiting me since the 8th grade and they have a good program. They are just one of the schools that has been most loyal to me, through thick and thin.”

Michigan State: “They also have a great program with a very good coaching staff. They develop great players.”

UNC: “Coach Roy [Williams] knows what he’s doing with his big men. Being that I am one, I feel that he would take care of me and get me to where I want to be.”

Texas: “Honestly, I don’t know to much about them but I like the fact that even though I’m hurt, they are still down with me. They still have been reaching out to me, a lot.”

Kansas: “Also a school that’s been there for a long time. They are just one of the schools that I’ve dreamed of being on my list since I was little.”

Tilmon had shoulder surgery recently, and will miss the remainder of this summer. He had been playing on the Nike EYBL circuit with the St. Louis Eagles. He has no timetable yet of when he plans to commit.

    GRAY SAYS SEVEN WORKING HARDEST

Raiquan Gray, a 6-foot-8-forward from Fort Lauderdale, FL, named Baylor, Ole Miss, Auburn, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Memphis, and Florida as the seven schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

He broke down all seven schools for SNY.tv:

Ole Miss: “The guy that is recruiting me, Tony Madlock, is like family to me. I feel like I can trust him and I think he’ll be there for me when I need him. So, that’s a big reason why I like Ole Miss. I’ll probably be able to improve my overall game and I won’t be held back by another player on the team because the 2017 class has some big upside.”

Florida: “They’ve been recruiting me since ninth grade. My teammate, who I also consider my brother, Keith Stone, goes there. He’s a big part in that. I looked up to him when I was younger and I still do. Keith Stone is really a plus on that.”

Baylor: “I love Coach [Scott] Drew. He’s an energetic guy. I’m the No. 1 priority for that class, the 2017 class. I went to visit officially and they showed me a lot of love and I liked the campus. I got a feel for the campus and I really liked it. I feel like it’s a great opportunity for me if I go out there.”

Oklahoma State: “Again, the people that are recruiting me. Coach Lamont Evans, he’s been on me since around eighth grade summer. He was actually recruiting Keith [Stone], so he saw a lot of similarities in me. He loves me and not just about basketball. It hasn’t been just at Oklahoma State. It was also when he was at South Carolina and he’s kept in contact with me, making sure that everything was good. That’s the upside for them.”

Memphis: “Memphis is like my dream school to me. All my family on my mom’s side went there. I love Memphis. Tubby Smith is a great coach and I really like him.”

Auburn: “I had an in-home visit with Coach Bruce Pearl. He brought the whole staff down to see me. Davion Mitchell talked to me a little bit about it at the Top 100 Camp. He was saying how Coach Bruce Pearl is a great coach and I see the same. I see how they develop players and get them to the NBA, so that’s what plays a big role in college and getting to the next level. The history is really nice. Coach Bruce Pearl and Auburn have a great coaching staff.”

West Virginia: “Coach Bob Huggins contacted me and I think that’s a big thing for a coach like Bob Huggins to keep in contact with me and make me feel wanted. It’s not coming from any other coach, just himself. So, I think that’s a big thing because he’s always comfortable just asking me, how my day was, and not just basketball. So, I think they’re really my top school so far.

Gray says that he’ll probably cut his list to six before the season and take another unofficial from there. He named his 13 schools back in June.

Playing with Florida Vipers 17U, Gray is trying to reclaim a UAA title after winning the 16U championship last year.

“I know that the more wins, the more scholarships, so we really want to win.” says Gray. “I want to win the UAA finals again and make history as back to back champions.”
