    Jaylen Nowell, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Garfield (WA) High School, announced his commitment to the University of Washington on Wednesday over schools such as Oregon, Arizona, California, Oregon State, Portland State, Texas, among others.

    “THIS MY TOWN!! I I have to put on for my city.” exclaimed Nowell, the first commit for Lorenzo Romar and the Huskies in the 2017 class.

    Playing with Seattle Rotary, Nowell is averaging 20.2 points per game, along with 3.9 rebounds per game. Coming from Seattle, staying home played a large role in Nowell’s commitmen.

    ” I want to play in front of my family and friends.” he told SNY.tv. “You can’t ignore the success of their players that they’ve been sending to the league. The team is going to be very good by the time I get there.”

    247 Sports has him ranked as the No. 47 overall player in the Class of 2017 and No. 2 in the state of Washington.

    Romar and the Huskies remain in the mix for Class of 2017 stars Michael Porter Jr. and Trae Young, teammates on the Mokan Elite AAU program. Romar recently hired Michael Porter Sr. as an assistant coach.

    MITCHELL ROBINSON TO WESTERN KENTUCKY

    Mitchell Robinson, a 7-foot center from New Orleans LA) Chalmette, committed to Western Kentucky on Wednesday.

    The No. 9 center in the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports.com, he initially committed to Texas A&M but will now follow Rick Stansbury to his new location.

    “I can trust him,” Robinson told ESPN. “He was the first one who really recruited me.”

    “I think I can help build Western Kentucky,” Robinson added. “It’s a chance for me to make an impact right away.”

    GALEN ALEXANDER DOWN TO 7

    Galen Alexander, a 6-6 small forward from Breaux Bridge (La.) cut his list to seven schools.

    The No. 15 small forward in the country according to 247Sports.com is down to Marquette, LSU, Arizona, N.C. State, Western Kentucky, Memphis and TCU, he Tweeted.
