CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Isaiah Washington, the 6-foot-1 Class of 2017 point guard from St. Raymond’s in The Bronx, says four schools are working the hardest for him right now.
“Texas A&M, Minnesota, New Mexico, Seton Hall have been showing the most interest,” Washington told SNY.tv. “My recruitment is wide open though.”
He picked up offers from Texas A&M and VCU last month.
“This summer has been going well,” said Washington, who runs with New Heights on the Under Armour circuit. “I have been playing well on the circuit and going to a lot of big camps. Working on my pick and roll game.”
As for what he’ll be looking for in a school, Washington said: “I’m going to be looking at if it feels like it’s at home. I really want to feel comfortable playing there.”
With his former St. Ray’s teammate Sid Wilson opting to reclass to 2018 and transfer to Brewster (N.H.) Academy, Washington will have to shoulder a bigger role for his team, which is set to play in the 2017 SNY Invitational.
“There’s a lot of good players left in New York,” Washington said. “With me being the main face of New York City, I’ve got to put on because everyone wants to see me do well.”
