The Class of 2017 point guard race just got a little more interesting.

Matt Coleman, the 6-foot-2 floor general from Oak Hill Academy (VA), announced offers from Duke and Kansas on Saturday.

“Matt is the consummate pass-first point guard,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. “He’s always looking to facilitate and create for his teammates. Matt has great court vision and is a guy his teammates love with play with and for.”

Coleman won a gold medal on the USA U18 coached by Shaka Smart team this summer. That team also featured fellow point guards Trae Young and Quade Green.

Duke is involed for Green, as are Kentucky, Syracuse and others, while Kansas is among those recruiting Young, along with Kentucky, Oklahoma and others.

Coleman told me this summer that slew of schools that were “pushing really hard,” including Syracuse, Xavier, Arizona, Texas, Louisville, Stanford, Washington, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Ohio State, Providence and Seton Hall.

Rest assured, between Coelman, Green, Young, Trevon Duval and Tremont Waters, when the point guard dominoes start to fall, it is going to be fascinating.

“We talk about it all the time, who’s their top five, top 10, where they’re looking,” Coleman said this summer. “We communicate to see, and you also have to see which point guard commits first so you can see the chain reaction on where everybody else is committing.”

    NATE PIERRE-LOUIS ADDS GEORGIA TECH

Nate Pierre-Louis, the Class of 2017 point guard from Roselle Catholic and Sports U, added a Georgia Tech offer and plans to visit them, he told SNY.tv.

Georgia Tech also recently hosted Christ the King floor general Jose Alvarado on an official.

Pierre-Louis will take an official to Temple on Sept. 8.
