John Petty is down to two schools and is targeting a decision by November.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is now considering Alabama and Kentucky and has cut Kansas, UConn and Florida State.

“I’ve narrowed it down to two, so most of the pressure is really gone now,” Petty told Al.com.

Petty plans to take an official to Kentucky on Oct. 28 after having visited home state Alabama Aug. 25.

He averaged 19.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.8 steals while leading his former high school, J.O. Johnson, to a second consecutive 5A state championship in the program’s final year. He was also named Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year.
