Tremont Waters, the 5-11, 160-pound point guard from Notre Dame (CT) High School, committed to Georgetown over Indiana and Kentucky on Wednesday.
“After many discussions with my parents I will be attending Georgetown University,” said Waters.
“Allen Iverson is a great example of what I can become or better. Also the feeling I had when I went to Georgetown. Everyone pretty much want me there, it’s just a family.”
Waters was initially considering seven schools and has already taken officials to Kansas (Oct. 1), Indiana (Sept. 23), Kentucky (Sept. 16), and Georgetown (Sept. 9). He took an unofficial to Georgetown last week (Oct. 15), which triggered an NCAA violation by the Hoyas because they publicized a picture of Waters with the team.
Ranked the No. 10 point guard in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, Waters is Georgetown’s first commit in this class.
“Tremont Waters is a skilled lead guard who is an equipped scorer, but also a talented distributor,” said Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “He’s quick, a good ball handler and a high-level shot maker from distance.”
