Rayshaun Hammonds, the 6-7, 190-pound power forward from Norcross (GA) High School, announced his commitment to Georgia Thursday after taking an official last week (Nov. 4).
“I’m going to Georgia because it’s home,” Hammonds told Scout.com. “I can start as a freshman. They have good academics and I love the campus.”
Hammonds chose Georgia over schools such as Alabama, UConn, Texas, Miami, and Memphis. He has taken official visits to Texas (Sept. 9), Memphis (Sept. 23), Miami (Oct. 7), and Georgia (Nov. 4).
Hammonds is the first commit in Georgia’s 2017 class.
