The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Wednesday that the team has assigned former Kentucky big man Nerlens Noel to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League.

The assignment is part of Noel’s ongoing rehabilitation program for his left knee, the team said. He had surgery last month and has yet to play in a game this season.

Noel has reportedly indicated his desire to be traded since the Sixers already have Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor at center.

Noel was the No. 6 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.

In a related move, the team has recalled Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from the Sevens.
