Qudus Wahab, a 6-foot-10 big man from Virginia Academy, visited Rutgers over the weekend and picked up an offer.

Ranked the No. 13 power forward in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports.com, Wahab now holds offers from Rutgers, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Colgate. He has interest from Florida, Missouri, USC, Wake Forest and others.

“The Rutgers staff is all about being a family (on and off the court) and making sure the student-athlete is taken care of academically, mentally and physically,” said Duval Simmonds, Wahab’s guardian. “They provide all the necessary resources for any student athlete to be successful. All the coaches are down to earth and really focused on adding elite talent while competing at an high level within the Big 10.”

Wahab will play AAU this summer with the Boo Williams U17 team on the Nike EYBL circuit.

“He has a high ceiling and high upside because he started playing basketball about one and a half years ago since arriving from Nigeria and he’s still learning/developing,” Simmonds said. “He’s an elite rebounder and shot-blocker who is consistently working on the offensive side of the game and he will only improve over time.”
