Emmanuel Akot, the 2018 small forward to Wasatch (UT) Academy, announced his commitment to Arizona on Thursday per Scout.com.
“They have a great atmosphere, play a high level of basketball, and put players in the NBA,” said Akot. “They have a great coaching staff and they play my style of basketball.”
Akot is the first commit in Arizona’s 2018 class. He took an official visit to Arizona last month (Feb. 25) and also visited Utah earlier this month (Mar. 2). Oregon and Louisville were also on his list of finalists.
“I can come off pick and rolls and create but I can also play off ball and attack,” said Akot. “I’m just excited to play basketball. It’s my goal to win a national championship, and I know that I can do that at Arizona.”
