Washington has asked signees to meet with new coach Mike Hopkins before releasing them. Five-star Washington signee Michael Porter Jr. has also requested release from his National Letter of Intent but is yet to meet with Hopkins. The 6-10 Porter Jr. will compete in the McDonald’s All-American game next week in Chicago
Moving forward, there has been speculation about Harris possibly committing to Missouri, as Michael Porter Sr., a former Washington assistant, is expected to be hired as an assistant coach for the Tigers.
Other uncommitted 2017 point guards include McDonald’s All-American Trevon Duval and 3-star Jordan Walker. Walker, who plays at The Patrick (NJ) School, told ZAGSBLOG on Monday that he dedicated this season to his 29-year-old older brother, Jamal, whom he said was murdered in Detroit on Nov. 3.
Duval is considering Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Kansas and Seton Hall.
