Florida State will now have three players enter the NBA Draft after freshman forward
Jonathan Isaac and junior guard
Xavier Rathan-Mayes followed sophomore
Dwayne Bacon by declaring.
The 6-foot-10 Isaac is currently projected at No. 9 by Draft Express.com, while the the 6-5 Bacon is at No. 44. The 6-4 Rathan-Mayes is not projected to be drafted.
“I’ve decided to enter the 2017 NBA draft,” Isaac, who averaged 12.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, said in a video he released on Twitter.
“I’d like to thank all of Florida State for making my time here worthwhile. And a special thanks to all you fans and FSU’s amazing staff. I’ve truly enjoyed my time here, and it’s all because of you guys. I know this season didn’t end as well as everyone expected but I’m extremely proud of what this team accomplished. And I’m honored to be a part of the Seminole basketball family.
“I’d like to thank my coaches and my teammates for helping me get through a tough season. And to all of the fans who supported us through all the ups and downs, I hope you choose to support me on my journey to the next level. Thank you and Go ‘Noles!”
Rathan-Mayes, a native of Scarborough, Ontario, averaged 10.6 points and 3.2 rebounds.
“I feel that now is the time for me to continue setting goals for myself at the next level,” he said in a statement. “I’m excited to take this next step to pursue a career in the NBA. I will be forever grateful to be a Seminole and I look forward to making you proud in the future.”
