Matt Ryan is headed to Vanderbilt
The 6-foot-7, 220-pound sharpshooting small forward from Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., will transfer to Vanderbilt from Notre Dame. He also considered California.
“Coach [Bryce Drew] and the whole staff made my family and I feel like we were home,” Ryan told ZAGSBLOG. “The opportunity to remain competing at a high level, while also being in a great city under young, motivated coaches, was one I could not pass up.”
Ryan averaged 3.6 points and 0.9 rebounds for the Irish. He will sit the 2017-18 season and then have two years of eligibility remaining.
He went for a season-high 23 points against Chicago State in November.
