Tre Jones, the 6-foot-2 point guard from Apple Valley (MN) High School, will make his college decision on Sunday, he announced via Twitter on Thursday.
Jones, the younger brother of former Duke star and current Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones, holds an offer from Duke and many believe he will choose the Blue Devils. Of the 16 predictions from 247Sports Crystal Ball, 95 percent of experts expect Jones to commit to Duke.
Jones would be the first commit in Duke’s 2018 class. Duke extended offers to three players on Tuesday in Nassir Little, Armando Bacot, and Vernon Carey Jr.. Duke also canceled their Dominican Republic trip on Thursday as head coach Mike Krzyzewski will undergo knee surgery.
According to 247Sports, Jones is ranked as the No. 9 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 1 point guard in the class. He currently holds offers from schools such as Duke, Minnesota,, USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Arizona, Baylor, Memphis, Oregon, and Texas Tech, among others.
