David Duke, the 6-foot-3 combo guard from Cushing (MA) Academy, named Indiana, Villanova, Florida, Providence, and Virginia Tech as his top five schools on Monday via Twitter. He broke down each school for D1VISION last month:
Providence: “Coach [Ed] Cooley is a great guy, who shows me that I’m their top recruit and he has a great record of developing his point guards to get them NBA ready.”
Virginia Tech: Buzz [Williams] has built Virginia Tech up by doing all the right things and he recruits players who play hard. I like their playing style and he also has told me that they’re on me hard as one of their top recruits.”
Florida: “I love how they play and I’ve built a relationship with their coaches. They have a good situation for me there. They see my potential and say they can develop me.” Indiana: “They have shown great interest and [although] they have commits in the class, they are looking for a guard. They believe I fit well in their system.” Villanova: “They have me as a top recruit. They believe [Jalen] Brunson will be leaving which creates an opportunity for me.” According to 247Sports, Duke is ranked as the No. 47 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 2 player from the state of Massachusetts. Playing with Mass Rivals on the Adidas Gauntlett, Duke averaged 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, in six games played. Duke’s teammate with Mass Rivals, AJ Reeves, committed to Providence in June. Follow Jacob on Twitter Follow Adam Zagoria on Twitter And Like ZAGS on Facebook
