Landers Nolley, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard from Langston Hughes (GA) High School, spoke with ZAGSBLOG on Monday about his recent official visit to Illinois last weekend (Sept. 1-3).
“The atmosphere appeals to me because it’s a basketball school,” said Nolley. “I also like how they are as a team and just the opportunity to have an impact as a freshman.”
According to 247Sports, Nolley is ranked as the No. 96 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 4 player from the state of Georgia. He also has official visits to Georgia (Oct. 6-8), Oklahoma State (Oct. 13-15), UConn (TBD), and Virginia Tech (Sept. 29-31).
“I would be a good fit there,” said Nolley on Illinois. “They play high paced with a lot of shots. I could play about 25-28 minutes per game.”
Nolley also confirmed to ZAGSBLOG that he will announce his final eight schools on Saturday. It is assumed that Georgia, Oklahoma State, UConn, Illinois, and Virginia Tech will all be included on his list.
