Aaron Nesmith, the 6-foot-5 small forward from Porter-Gaud (SC) School, committed to Vanderbilt on Tuesday per Rivals.
“I’ve been waiting it out and waiting it out,” Nesmith told Rivals. “I see it now that the campus life felt right. Then the big thing is that Coach [Bryce] Drew, Coach [Jake] Diebler, Coach [Roger] Powell and Coach [Casey] Shaw, the vision that they have for me makes sense and I feel I can get better there.”
Nesmith took a visit to Vanderbilt on Aug. 4 and South Carolina on Sept. 6.
Nesmith chose the ‘Dores over Florida, Georgetown, Harvard, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Yale, which were all among his final seven schools.
According to 247Sports, Nesmith is ranked as the No. 104 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 2 player from the state of South Carolina.
Meantime, Vandy head coach Bryce Drew was at Montverde (FL) Academy on Tuesday for 2018 forward Filip Petrusev.
