The FBI on Tuesday raided the offices of prominent NBA agent Andy Miller and seized his computer, a source said.
Miller did not immediately respond to a text message seeking comment.
He represents several NBA players, including Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez and Kyle O’Quinn of the Knicks and Isaiah Whitehead of the Nets.
The news was first reported on Twitter by sports attorney Darren Heitner.
The US Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York announced earlier Tuesday that federal criminal charges have been brought against ten people, including four college basketball coaches, as well as managers, financial advisors, and representatives of a major international sportswear company (Adidas).
“Today’s arrest should be considered a warning to others,” said William F. Sweeney, Assistant Director-in-Charge of the New York Office of the FBI. “We have your playbook. Our investigation is ongoing and we are conducting additional interviews as we speak.”
Christian Dawkins, who was fired by Miller’s ASM Sports agency in May, is linked in the documents released by the FBI to the four coaches.
Dawkins, 24, faces various charges of Bribery conspiracy, Payments of bribes, Honest services fraud conspiracy, Honest services fraud (3 counts), Wire fraud conspiracy (2 counts), Wire fraud (2 counts), Travel Act conspiracy and Money laundering conspiracy, and faces a maximum prison term of 200 years.
