Miami coach Jim Larranaga expects to have five-star freshman Lonnie Walker “close to 100 percent” for the season-opener against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 10, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Walker has been limited in practices since tearing his meniscus in July.
“He can do everything,” Larranaga said. “He’s just not in great shape yet.”
Walker is one of two projected NBA lottery picks on the Miami roster, along with sophomore Bruce Brown. Brown is projected at No. 12 in 2018 via ESPN.com, while Walker is projected at No. 13.
Walker surely hopes to be in fine form by the time Miami travels to his hometown of Reading, Pa., on Nov. 22 to play La Salle.
