Maryland has done fairly well in recruiting in both 2017 and 2018, and head coach Mark Turgeon says the Terps hopefully aren’t done yet.

In 2017, the Terps added guard Darryl Morsell and forward Bruno Fernando, both of whom are expected to play this season.

“You never know who’s going to be back, who’s going to leave, we only have 11 on scholarship this year,” Turgeon said this week on The 4 Quarters Podcast. “We’ve got three seniors [Michal Cekovsky, Jared Nickens, Sean Obi] and then we have one that might leave early [Justin Jackson] so we always have to keep adding so yeah we expect to add a few more players, a couple more at least, hopefully. It’s a lot easier said than done but we’re plugging away and get lucky and hopefully we’ll get lucky here these next couple weeks.”

For 2018, the Terps’ three man class of combo guard Eric Ayala, small forward Aaron Wiggins and power forward Jalen Smith is currently ranked No. 10 by Scout.com.

The Terps remain in the mix for several key Class of 2018 prospects, including shooting guard Keldon Johnson of Oak Hill Academy (VA), big man Moses Brown of Archbishop Molloy (N.Y.) and small forward Jairus Hamilton of Charlotte (N.C.) Cannon.

The 6-foot-7 Johnson is down to Kentucky, Texas, N.C. State and Maryland. His father said he expects to decide by November.

The 7-2 Brown is considering Florida State, Maryland and UCLA, where he visits this weekend.

And the 6-8 Hamilton is considering Maryland, N.C. State, Boston College and Mississippi State, among others.
