J’Raan Brooks, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Garfield (WA) High School, will visit St. John’s this weekend and will attend Sunday’s game against Iona at Madison Square Garden.

Brooks also visited Cal after decommitting from USC.

“He’ll have two visits left after the season is done,” his mother Jen Brooks said. “We’re not sure where he’ll take them at this point. We’re just going to see how the next few months goes.”

Brooks initially chose USC over Virginia, Stanford, Oklahoma, and Cal.

On the adidas circuit, Brooks averaged 15.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in eight games, leading Dream Vision to a 5-3 record.

Brooks is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 87 player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 3 player from the state of Washington.

St. John’s assistant Matt Abdelmassih also saw several local recruits this week, including Class of 2019 St. Benedict’s Prep wing Precious Achiuwa and Class of 2020 Our Savior Lutheran point guard Posh Alexander. On Friday he’s slated to see Lawrence Woodmere Academy big man Aidan Igiehon.

Head coach Chris Mullin and assistant Greg St. Jean also saw Class of 2018 forward Jordan Brown of Prolific Prep.
