Seton Hall freshman guard Jordan Walker has left the program, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.
Walker quit the team in the wake of not playing in Saturday’s Garden State Hardwood Classic, a 71-65 loss to Rutgers, after he was cleared to play. Walker had been out with a thumb injury prior to that.
“I’m very surprised. I wasn’t even aware he was cleared to play last week,” Patrick School coach Chris Chevannes said. “We take a lot of pride that over the years very few of our players transfer when they go to the next level. This wasn’t easy for Jordan because of the love he often spoke of when talking about Seton Hall.”
“I will always support him wherever he chooses to finish his education and basketball career,” he added.
Walker averaged 14 minutes per game while averaging 3.5 points and 2 assists and shooting 66.7 percent from the field. A Port Washington, N.Y. native, Walker led the Patrick School to a 21-4 record last yearm including a New Jersey Tournament of Champions title along with Kentucky big man Nick Richards.Sophmore guard Eron Gordon will continue to back up starting point guard Khadeen Carrington for the Pirates, a source told ZAGSBLOG. Seton Hall is currently ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll.
