COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Auburn starting forward Anfernee McLemore is done for the season after leaving the court on a stretcher after a gruesome-looking injury to his left leg late in the first half against South Carolina on Saturday.
Auburn said McLemore suffered a dislocated left ankle and was taken to a hospital for X-rays.
McLemore came down hard and immediately started shouting in pain as medical personnel quickly surrounded him.Thank you Auburn Family for all the love and support! The 6-foot-7 McLemore remained on the ground for several minutes before he was carried out on a stretcher. His coach, Bruce Pearl, and South Carolina coach Frank Martin came out to check on him. McLemore sat up on the stretcher to wave to the crowd before heading to the locker room. McLemore has started 21 of 27 games for the 10th-ranked Tigers this season.
