Elias King, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Lincoln (GA) Academy, de-committed from Georgia on Tuesday, as first reported by Rivals.
“The reason I’m opening up is because Coach [Mark] Fox got fired and that was one of the reasons I picked Georgia,” King told Rivals. “I talked to him the day he got fired and he wished my family luck.”
According to 247Sports, King is ranked as the No. 55 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia.
King’s de-commitment leaves Georgia without a 2019 commit after losing a commitment from five-star guard Ashton Hagans in February. Prior to his de-commitment, King held offers from schools such as Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, NC State, Seton Hall, USC, USF, VCU, and Virginia Tech, among others.
