  • Myreon Jones decommits from Memphis

    Myreon Jones, the 6-foot-3 combo guard from Lincoln Academy (GA), has decommitted from Memphis, he told 247Sports.

    A four-star recruit, Jones committed on March 3rd and also held offers from Ole Miss, Colorado State, UAB and received interest from Alabama, Auburn, Middle Tennessee State, Clemson, and Virginia.

    Tubby Smith was fired from Memphis on March 14th after going 21-13 in his second season with the program.

    Former Memphis starĀ Penny Hardaway, now the head coach at Memphis East High School and the Team Penny Nike EYBL team, has recently been linked to the Memphis job, via Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com.

    Three-star center Connor Vanover is the lone signee in Memphis’ 2018 recruiting class.
