Romeo Langford, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from New Albany (IN), will make his college decision in April his father, Tim, told ZAGSBLOG.
Langford and his New Albany team lost in the Indiana 4A semi-state game on a buzzer beater ending his illustrious high school career. Langford finished with 35 points and surpassed the career 3,000 points milestone with Vanderbilt’s Bryce Drew in attendance.
With the high school season out of the way, Langford will shift his focus to the McDonald’s All-American Game on March 28th in Atlanta and the Jordan Brand Classic on April 8 in Brooklyn.
Tim Langford previously broke down Indiana, Kansas, and Vanderbilt, Romeo’s final three schools, on the 4 Quarters Podcast.
Indiana: “Well, first of all, he’s homegrown and making history by staying at home and going to IU. And also we like the style of offense that [Coach] Archie Miller has. They brought the one they had from Dayton, he brought that to Indiana. So we like that, but we still want to see a bit more and also get to know the coaching staff a little bit more, too.”
Kansas: “Speaking of Kansas, we like Coach [Bill] Self as a coach and we also like the program. We like their staff. He already mentioned that they were going to try to get those two guys [Devon Dotson and Quentin Grimes], they finally got Grimes. He was talking about doing a three-way offense for his guards and having Romeo, Grimes and Dotson take the ball up and down the court, so we don’t see any problem with that.”
Vanderbilt: “Coach [Bryce] Drew for one played NBA ball for five or six years and his style of offense, Romeo can see himself fitting in that style of offense. But we like that program and the coaching staff also.”
OKLAHOMA STATE AND MISSOURI WATCH COURTNEY RAMEY
Courtney Ramey, the 6-foot-4 point guard from Webster Groves (MO), finished with 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists in a 101-90 win over Chaminade in the Missouri Class 5 state championship game on Saturday.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton and Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin were in attendance for the game, according to Scout.com.
Ramey, a former Louisville commit, has added offers from Missouri, Illinois, South Carolina, SMU, and Minnesota in the past few weeks. Ramey has already taken officials to Oklahoma State and Texas before canceling trips to Villanova and UCLA.
“He’s being patient and focusing on the season and letting things unfold all the way around,” Ramey’s father, Terrell Ramey, told Rivals.com in February. “He’s in a great situation right now, and having the chance to see what happens everywhere should be very good for him.
“He’s been through this before and we are seeing that everything happens for a reason. It’s a good situation to be in, and he’s going to take his time.”
