UConn has a big recruiting weekend on tap.
Dan Hurley’s program this weekend will host Brendan Adams, Tarin Smith and Kassoum Yakwe on official visits, sources said.
The 6-foot-4 Adams is a point guard who initially committed to Hurley at Rhode Island, but obtained his release after Hurley took the UConn job. He is the younger brother of former St. Bonaventure guard Jaylen Adams. Xavier and Seton Hall are also reportedly involved.
The 6-2 Smith is a Duquesne transfer who averaged 12.4 points per game last season. He played for Bob Hurley Sr. at St. Anthony’s and also spent a year at Nebraska when current UConn assistant Kenya Hunter was on staff.
The 6-7 Yakwe is transferring from St. John’s after averaging just 2.2 points and 2.1 rebounds last season. He averaged 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds as a freshman.
Both Smith and Yakwe are graduate transfers who would be immediately eligible.
