Illinois on Monday scored a big man late in the recruiting process.

Head coach Brad Underwood picked up former St. John’s big man Adonis De La Rosa, the Bronx native and Kent State grad transfer who is immediately eligible.

The 7-foot De La Rosa tore his ACL in Kent State’s loss to Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, and had surgery in March. The former Christ the King star averaged 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds last season there.

Illinois previously added 6-8 small forward Anthony Higgs.
