Dashawn Davis, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound combo guard from Our Saviour Lutheran School in The Bronx and the NY Lightning AAU program, is down to three schools and will announce on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., he told ZAGSBLOG.
“Yes, I’m down to St. John’s, Old Dominion and Seton Hall,” Davis said recently by phone.
He has yet to take any official visits but recently visited Seton Hall and and St. John’s.
Davis broke down each school.
St. John’s: “St. John’s is telling me that it likes me, that I could be a piece to the puzzle with what they’re trying to do.”
Old Dominion: “They want me to come in right away and play as a freshman and play 30 minutes or so.”
Seton Hall: “Seton Hall wants me to go there and be another ball-handler, be another playmaker. Learn from Myles Powell and in my second year just take over.”
Said Our Savior coach Peter Wehye: “He has a big upside. He is a playmaker, he can score the basketball, he put the ball in the hole, he can defend the 1,2, or 3. His biggest attribute is his heart. He is a dog. He is highly effective and able to coexist without taking away from his teammates. He’s the best two-way guard in the city.”
