Jim Boeheim on Zion: ‘He’s like Charles Barkley was except he shoots better than Charles and he’s not as fat’

Jim Boeheim chimed in on Zion Williamson after his team stunned No. 1 Duke, 95-91 in overtime, Monday night at Cameron Indoor.

“He’s like Charles Barkley was except he shoots better than Charles and he’s not as fat,” said Boeheim, who beat a top-ranked team for the fourth time in his last six tries.

The 6-foot-7, 280-pound Williamson went for 35 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, setting a scoring record for Duke freshmen.

He is widely projected as the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft with five teams leading in the “Stop Tryin’ for Zion” Sweepstakes: Cleveland, Chicago, New York, Phoenix and Atlanta.
