Clarence Nadolny, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard from Scotland Campus (PA), has trimmed his list to three schools and is planning his official visits.
Nadolny is down to West Virginia, Iowa State and Texas Tech. He broke down all three for ZAGSBLOG.
West Virginia: “They have been recruiting me for a while now. Being pretty close to me, they came to see me a few time and I exchanged a lot with the coaching staff. Coach [Bob] Huggins and I met a couple times and had a good time together. They told me that they really need somebody that can “put them back on track.” With my energy, leadership, toughness and ability to do multiple things on the court like playing hard defense and scoring fast in transition, the plan is to go back to the old style ( pressing a lot the ball) and becoming a Big 12 contender starting next year.”
Iowa State: “They have been recruiting me the whole season. The assistant coach came to see me couple time in practice and games. And coach [Steve] Prohm came to visit me on campus and we had a great talk. He thinks that ‘I could fit perfectly,’ and told me that ‘He really need my toughness on the court and he really wants to coach me in my college years.’ Coach Prohm and I have a great relationship.”
Texas Tech: “They offered me in the National Prep School Tournament after my game against Putnam. Coach [Chris] Beard and I have built a relationship pretty quickly, calling each other really often. The things that he liked about me was my toughness on the court, my defense, my ability to make play for my teammates and knock down shoots. Losing his starting guard and point guard next year he told me that he needs me to come in right the way and play.”
Scotland Campus coach Chris Chaney said of Nadolny:
“Clarence is a very competitive, tough athletic guard who plays with a chip on his shoulder,” he said. “He can score in a variety of ways and bought into our culture of team play and became a vocal leader. He has learned to play in different speeds and is a college ready prospect with a huge upside. He was a big part of our 36-2 season and going up to the No. 1 prep team in the country.”
