Kentucky takes No. 1 ranking in new AP Top 25, Duke No. 2

The Kentucky Wildcats are the new No. 1 team in college basketball. After handling Michigan State on opening night, Kentucky moved up one spot today in the new AP Top 25.
Duke moved up to the No. 2 spot after beating Kansas on opening night, while Michigan State fell to No. 3. Louisville came in at No. 4 while Kansas fell two spots to round out the top 5.
Kentucky is No. 1 for the seventh season in the 11-year John Calipari era. The Wildcats are atop the AP Top 25 for the first time since December 2016.
No. 3 Michigan State will head to Newark to take on No. 12 Seton Hall Thursday night. All-American guard Myles Powell (ankle) is not expected to play.
