Wichita State transfer Jamarius Burton announced on Monday he is heading to Texas Tech.

The 6-foot-4 sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., also considered Marquette, Seton Hall and Xavier.

“The transfers they get succeed and the development is undeniable,” he said. “Their style of play fit me perfectly.”

He averaged 10.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists last season. Burton would have to sit one season to play two unless he receivers a waiver.

“I’m a versatile guard who can do a little bit of everything,” he said.

Texas Tech also adds a recruiting class that includes shooting guard Nimari Burnett and small forwards Micah Peavy and Chibuzo Agbo.
