Christ Church (SC) Episcopal Church 7-foot-1 big John Butler has announced his commitment to Florida State.
Joins Bryce McGowens and Matthew Cleveland as the third commit in the Seminoles' 2021 class.
“I am proud to announce I will be playing in the ACC,” Butler said during a ceremony at Christ Church Episcopal on Wednesday. “For the Florida State Seminoles and Coach [Leonard] Hamilton.”
Butler chose Florida State over Alabama, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Wake Forest.
He joins five-star Matthew Cleveland and four-star Bryce McGowens as the third commit in Florida State’s 2021 class, giving the Seminoles the No. 8 ranked recruiting class in 2021 per 247Sports.com.
Butler averaged 17.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game last season with Christ Church.
According to 247Sports, Butler is ranked as the No. 14 center and No. 78 overall player in the Class of 2021.
