Stevie Mitchell is headed to the Big East.
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound point guard from Wilson (PA) picked Marquette over Stanford, Villanova, Georgia Tech, Temple, Saint Joseph’s and Miami.
Associate head coach Dwayne Killings was the lead recruiter.
According to 247Sports.com, Mitchell is ranked as the No. 14 point guard and No. 100 overall player in the Class of 2021. “First and foremost, Marquette is getting a great human being,” Wilson coach Matt Coldren said. “Stevie understands the importance of his family, teammates, and community. He loves all three very much. As for basketball, they are getting an extremely driven individual. Stevie is just as good with his left hand as he is with his right. If you did not see him shoot a jump-shot you would not know what handed he was. He has a very unique way of getting around quick defenders and is able to score around the rim or distribute the ball to open teammates. He has great court awareness and vision. “His best days are certainly on the horizon. Stevie has a huge upside and is very willing to learn! I am so happy for Stevie and the coaching staff at Marquette. “Dwayne Killings is the man. One of the neatest individuals I have met through this whole process.” He joins Kameron Jones in Marquette’s 2021 class.
